In October 1984, the Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum was inaugurated to honor and showcase China's illustrious ceramic legacy. Located in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Provincea revered center for pottery since ancient timesthis vast museum complex spans over an expansive 830,000 square meters. It chronicles the evolution of ceramics artistry throughout Chinese history.

A Millennium of Pottery Excellence

As the country’s imperial kiln hub spanning two millennia, Jingdezhen has served as a key producer for Ming and Qing dynasty emperors for over six centuries. This rich heritage is meticulously documented within its walls, making it an essential reference point in Chinese pottery culture.

The museum boasts an impressive collection of over 50,000 artifacts, encompassing everything from Neolithic relics to porceln masterpieces across various dynastic periods and contemporary works by renowned artists like Wang Bua master of blue-and-white ceramicsand the illustrious Zhushan Mountn Eight Fris, a group of innovative ceramicists active in the late 19th century.

A Global Celebration of Ceramics

Recently, representatives from eleven Belt and Road Initiative countries in Asia and Africa visited the museum as part of an exchange program. They were given a unique insight into Chinese ceramics’ cultural significance and global impact through this exceptional collection.
