Spanning from relics dating back to the Wei and Jin dynasties through Buddhist scriptures from the Sui and Tang dynasties, to works by renowned calligraphers from the Song and Yuan dynasties, as well as various schools from the Ming and Qing dynasties, this museum holds a treasure trove that encapsulates China's unique cultural essence.

This collection, not only among the largest but also most impressive in China, provides a clear lineage of artistic development over centuries. These artifacts reflect ancient sages' individual pursuits and their profound love for their homeland, intertwining with timeless traditional values, moral philosophies, aesthetic ideals, and ideologies that have profoundly influenced Chinese people through millennia.

As part of its commitment to promoting national cultural heritage and showcasing the quintessence of Chinese aesthetics, the National Museum of China has carefully curated Ancient Chinese Calligraphy and Pnting, an exhibition featuring selected masterpieces from Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
